The DURA PLASTIC PVC80ADSFIP212 is a 2.5-inch PVC Schedule 80 male adapter fitting designed to transition between a socket (spline) connection and a female iron pipe thread (FIPT) end. Built from rigid PVC to Schedule 80 wall thickness standards, this fitting delivers greater pressure and impact resistance than Schedule 40 equivalents. It is commonly installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters in industrial, commercial, and residential pressure piping systems where a threaded-to-solvent-weld connection is required.
This male adapter is suited for use in cold and hot water distribution, chemical handling lines, irrigation systems, and pool or spa plumbing where PVC Schedule 80 construction is specified. The socket end accepts standard 2.5-inch PVC pipe for solvent-cement joining, while the FIPT end threads into a female-threaded fitting, valve, or equipment port. Schedule 80 fittings are commonly required in above-ground exposed piping and industrial process lines subject to higher working pressures.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 2.5-inch Schedule 80 PVC pressure piping systems in plumbing, irrigation, industrial process, and pool or spa applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM D2467 standards for Schedule 80 PVC fittings. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before cutting or joining any fitting. Use only Schedule 80-rated PVC solvent cement on the socket end and apply PTFE thread tape or an approved thread sealant on the FIPT connection. Do not over-torque the threaded joint, as PVC threads can crack under excessive force.
