The DURA PLASTIC PVC80ADSFIP112 is a Schedule 80 PVC male adapter fitting designed to transition between a spigot (plain end) socket connection and a female iron pipe thread (FIPT) threaded connection. Rated for higher pressure and impact resistance than Schedule 40 fittings, Schedule 80 PVC is the standard choice for industrial, commercial, and demanding residential plumbing and fluid-handling systems. This adapter measures 1-1/2 inches in both the spigot and threaded end sizes. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting when connecting PVC pipe runs to threaded female ports on pumps, valves, filters, or manifolds.
This fitting is suited for use in cold and hot water distribution, irrigation systems, pool and spa plumbing, chemical handling lines, and industrial process piping where Schedule 80 pressure ratings are required. The spigot end solvent-welds directly into a Schedule 80 or Schedule 40 socket, while the FIPT male thread engages standard NPT female ports. It is appropriate for both above-ground and in-wall installations where PVC is code-permitted.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using 1-1/2 inch nominal pipe size with NPT-threaded female connections.
Installation of the spigot end requires PVC primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 80 applications per the fitting and cement manufacturer instructions and applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC or UPC. The threaded FIPT end should be assembled with PTFE tape or thread sealant rated for PVC use. Do not over-torque the threaded connection, as PVC threads can crack under excessive force. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before cutting into any existing system.
