The DURA PLASTIC PVC40TRED341212 is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing tee designed for pressure piping systems. It connects a 3/4-inch run to two 1/2-inch branch outlets, all in a slip-socket configuration that accepts solvent-cement joining. Built to Schedule 40 wall thickness, this fitting handles the pressure demands of standard residential and light commercial water distribution lines. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting when a main line needs to be reduced and branched in a single transition, eliminating the need for a separate reducer and tee combination.
This reducing tee is suited for cold and hot water supply lines, irrigation systems, pool and spa plumbing, and general-purpose pressure piping applications. The slip-by-slip-by-slip socket ends require standard PVC primer and solvent cement for a permanent, leak-free bond. It is appropriate for both new construction rough-in work and repair or retrofit installations where a 3/4-inch main must feed two 1/2-inch lines simultaneously.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting compatible with standard Schedule 40 PVC pressure piping systems using 3/4-inch and 1/2-inch nominal pipe sizes.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the water supply before cutting into any existing line. All slip socket joints require PVC primer followed by solvent cement applied to both the pipe end and the socket interior. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer's instructions before pressurizing the system.
