The DURA PLASTIC PVC40TRED1121121 is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing tee fitting with three slip-socket connections. The run measures 1.5 inches on both ends, and the branch reduces to 1 inch, making it a standard reducing configuration for splitting or combining flow in a pressurized or gravity-drain line. Built from rigid PVC, this fitting is well suited for potable water distribution, irrigation systems, pool and spa plumbing, and general-purpose liquid conveyance. Licensed plumbers and pool service technicians install this type of fitting with solvent cement in new construction and repair applications alike.
This reducing tee is used in residential and light commercial PVC piping systems where a branch line of smaller diameter needs to tap off a main run. Common installation scenarios include irrigation manifolds, pool equipment pad plumbing, and domestic cold-water distribution. All three connections are slip-socket style, accepting plain-end PVC pipe that is primed and solvent-cemented in place per standard practice.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for Schedule 40 PVC piping systems using 1.5 inch main run pipe and 1 inch branch pipe with slip connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipe fitters following IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting into existing piping. Clean and deburr pipe ends, apply PVC primer to both the pipe and socket, then apply solvent cement and seat the pipe with a quarter-turn twist. Allow full cure time before restoring system pressure.
