The DURA PLASTIC PVC40T4 is a Schedule 40 PVC tee fitting with three 4-inch slip connections. It is designed to create branch connections in pressure-rated PVC piping systems, allowing flow to be split or directed at a 90-degree branch off the main run. The all-slip configuration accepts standard solvent-weld joints on all three ports. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems as well as cold-water pressure lines where Schedule 40 PVC is code-approved. The uniform 4-inch size on all three ports makes this a straight tee, suitable for equal-diameter branch connections without reducers.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, irrigation, and industrial fluid-handling applications where Schedule 40 PVC pipe is specified. Typical installations include main-line branch-offs in water distribution, pool and spa plumbing, and gravity-flow drain systems. All three ports are slip-style, requiring solvent cement and primer per manufacturer and code requirements. The 4-inch size is common in commercial drain headers, pool return manifolds, and larger-diameter irrigation mains.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for standard 4-inch Schedule 40 PVC piping systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following local plumbing codes and ASTM D2466 standards for Schedule 40 PVC fittings. Shut off and depressurize the piping system before cutting into any existing line. Clean and dry all mating surfaces, apply an approved PVC primer, then solvent cement per the cement manufacturer's instructions, allowing full cure time before pressurizing. Do not use this fitting with CPVC pipe, ABS pipe, or any solvent cement not rated for PVC Schedule 40.
