The DURA PLASTIC PVC40BUSHSPS32 is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing bushing designed to transition a 3-inch spigot connection down to a 2-inch slip socket. This fitting is manufactured from rigid PVC for use in pressure-rated piping systems. The spigot end inserts into a standard 3-inch socket fitting, while the 2-inch slip socket accepts standard pipe for solvent-cement joining. Plumbers and pipe fitters install this bushing wherever a reduction in line size is needed at a fitting connection point rather than mid-run. It is rated for Schedule 40 pressure service and conforms to standard PVC pressure fitting dimensions.
This bushing is suited for residential and light commercial water distribution, irrigation, and pool and spa plumbing systems where PVC Schedule 40 pipe and fittings are specified. It is commonly installed when connecting a smaller branch or outlet to an existing 3-inch socket fitting without requiring an additional coupling or reducer in the run. The solvent-weld construction keeps the joint count low and maintains system integrity across a range of operating pressures typical of Schedule 40 service.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit component for Schedule 40 PVC pressure piping systems using 3-inch socket fittings and 2-inch PVC pipe.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipe fitter in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before cutting or joining. Clean and prime both mating surfaces before applying PVC solvent cement, and allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer's instructions before restoring pressure. Do not use this fitting with CPVC, ABS, or threaded connections without the appropriate transition fittings.
