The DURA PLASTIC PVC40BUSHSPS234 is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing bushing designed for pressure piping systems. It features a 2 inch spigot inlet and a 3/4 inch slip outlet, allowing a larger pipe or fitting to step down to a smaller line without additional adapters. Constructed from rigid PVC, this bushing is suited for cold and hot water distribution, irrigation, and industrial fluid handling where a solvent-weld connection is required. Plumbers and irrigation technicians install this type of fitting as part of a scheduled pressure system assembly.
This bushing is used in residential and light commercial PVC pressure piping applications. The spigot end inserts into a standard Schedule 40 socket fitting or valve, while the slip end accepts a 3/4 inch PVC pipe with solvent cement. Typical install scenarios include main-line to branch reductions in potable water supply, irrigation manifolds, and recirculation systems where flow is being directed to a smaller diameter outlet.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard component for Schedule 40 PVC pressure piping systems using 2 inch to 3/4 inch reducing connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the water supply line completely before cutting into the existing system. Apply a PVC primer followed by solvent cement to both the spigot and pipe ends per the cement manufacturer's instructions, and allow adequate cure time before pressurizing. Do not use this fitting on systems with fluids or temperatures outside the pressure and temperature ratings for Schedule 40 PVC.
