The DURA PLASTIC PVC40BUSHSPFIP11412 is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing bushing designed to transition a 1-1/4 inch spigot connection down to a 1/2 inch female iron pipe thread (FIPT) port. This fitting is used in pressure piping systems where a size reduction is needed at a threaded female termination point. It is rated for Schedule 40 pressure service and is suited for cold and hot water distribution, irrigation, and general industrial fluid handling. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and irrigation technicians are the typical installers of this type of fitting.
This reducing bushing is commonly installed in residential and light commercial plumbing systems, irrigation manifolds, and pool or spa equipment plumbing. The spigot end inserts directly into a Schedule 40 socket fitting, while the FIPT end accepts a male-threaded pipe or fitting. It is well suited for use wherever a 1-1/4 inch PVC pressure line must reduce and transition to a 1/2 inch threaded connection.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with Schedule 40 PVC pressure piping systems using standard NPT threaded connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters in accordance with local plumbing codes and applicable IPC standards. Solvent-cement the spigot end into the mating Schedule 40 socket using approved PVC primer and cement, following manufacturer cure times before pressurizing the line. Apply thread sealant tape or compound to the FIPT connection before threading in the male fitting. Depressurize and drain the system before beginning any fitting work.
