The DURA PLASTIC PVC40BUSHSPFIP11234 is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing bushing designed for pressure piping systems. It transitions from a 1-1/2 inch spigot connection to a 3/4 inch female iron pipe thread (FIPT), allowing a reduction in line size within a single fitting. This bushing is used in cold and hot water distribution, irrigation, and industrial piping where a threaded female outlet is required at the reduced end. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of a solvent-welded and threaded assembly in both residential and light commercial applications.
This reducing bushing is suited for residential and commercial plumbing systems, irrigation manifolds, and pool or spa plumbing where Schedule 40 PVC pressure fittings are specified. The spigot end solvent-welds into a standard Schedule 40 socket, while the FIPT end accepts a male-threaded pipe or fitting. It is appropriate for above-ground and in-wall installations where the system operates within the pressure and temperature limits of Schedule 40 PVC.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 40 PVC pressure piping systems using 1-1/2 inch spigot and 3/4 inch female iron pipe thread connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following local plumbing codes and ASTM solvent-welding procedures. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before cutting into existing piping. Apply the appropriate PVC primer and solvent cement to the spigot end before seating; use thread sealant or PTFE tape on the FIPT end when connecting threaded fittings. Do not exceed the pressure and temperature ratings of Schedule 40 PVC for the installed system.
