The DURA PLASTIC PVC40ADSMIP341 is a reducing male adapter fitting manufactured from PVC Schedule 40 material for use in pressure piping systems. It connects a 1-inch male iron pipe thread (MIPT) on one end to a 3/4-inch slip socket on the other, allowing a threaded pipe or fitting to transition into a solvent-weld connection. This fitting is rated for pressure service and is used in potable water distribution, irrigation, and general plumbing systems. Licensed plumbers and irrigation contractors install this fitting wherever a threaded-to-solvent transition is required in a PVC Schedule 40 pressure system.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, pool and spa plumbing, and irrigation manifold assemblies. The 1-inch MIPT inlet threads onto a standard male-threaded valve, pump, or pipe fitting, while the 3/4-inch slip end accepts standard Schedule 40 PVC pipe for solvent cementing. It is commonly found at pump outlets, filter connections, and manifold branch points where a size reduction and thread-to-slip transition are needed in a single component.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard Schedule 40 PVC pressure piping systems using 1-inch MIPT threaded connections and 3/4-inch PVC solvent-weld pipe.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified irrigation technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for PVC solvent cementing. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting into existing piping or removing existing fittings. Apply the appropriate PVC primer and solvent cement to both the pipe and slip socket per manufacturer instructions before joining. Do not over-tighten the MIPT connection, as PVC threads can crack under excessive torque; use PTFE thread tape on the male threads to ensure a seal.
