The DURA PLASTIC PVC4045L4 is a 4-inch Schedule 40 PVC 45-degree elbow fitting with slip connections on both ends. It is designed for directional changes in pressure piping systems, redirecting flow at a 45-degree angle without sharp turns that would increase head loss. The fitting is manufactured from rigid PVC, which resists corrosion, scale buildup, and most common chemicals encountered in plumbing and irrigation systems. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in residential, commercial, and light industrial applications where a smooth, gradual directional change is required in the piping layout.
This elbow is suited for use in cold and ambient-temperature water supply lines, irrigation mainlines, pool and spa plumbing, and general-purpose pressure piping. The slip connections on both ends accept solvent cement for a permanent, pressure-rated joint. It is typically found in above-ground and below-ground installations where Schedule 40 PVC is the specified pipe material. The 45-degree geometry makes it a common choice in situations where a full 90-degree turn would create excessive pressure drop or where physical space requires an angled routing.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for Schedule 40 PVC pressure piping systems using 4-inch nominal pipe.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC or local authority having jurisdiction. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting into any existing piping. Use only solvent cement and primer rated for PVC Schedule 40 pressure fittings, and allow full cure time before restoring pressure. Do not apply heat or use threaded connections on slip-end fittings.
