The DURA PLASTIC L06720Y is a Schedule 40 PVC street elbow designed for standard pressure piping systems in plumbing, irrigation, and industrial applications. Street elbows combine a male NPT (MNPT) inlet on one end with a female NPT (FNPT) outlet on the other, allowing a direct transition without a separate fitting coupling. This 1-inch nominal elbow meets Schedule 40 and standard wall-thickness specifications, making it suitable for cold and ambient-temperature fluid distribution. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically install this fitting during rough-in and distribution work.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, pool and spa piping, lawn irrigation systems, and general water distribution lines where PVC is the specified material. The MNPT x FNPT configuration makes it particularly useful in tight spaces where a standard elbow and nipple combination would require additional clearance. It is a domestic-manufactured product, which may satisfy project specifications requiring domestic sourcing.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-inch Schedule 40 PVC threaded piping systems using standard NPT thread profiles.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with the applicable local plumbing code and ASTM D2466 standards for Schedule 40 PVC fittings. De-energize or shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing any existing fitting. Apply a compatible PVC thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and hand-tighten followed by wrench tightening to manufacturer or code-specified engagement — do not overtighten, as PVC threads can crack under excessive torque. PVC street elbows are not rated for hot-water service; verify the system temperature does not exceed the pressure-temperature rating for Schedule 40 PVC.
