The DURA PLASTIC L032100 is a PVC male reducing adapter designed to connect piping systems where a size transition is needed between 1-1/4 inch and 1-1/2 inch nominal pipe. The socket end accepts a plain pipe end with solvent cement, while the male NPT (MNPT) end threads into a female-threaded fitting or valve. Built to Schedule 40 standard wall thickness, this adapter is suited for pressure-rated applications in water distribution, irrigation, and general plumbing systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers. Domestically manufactured, this fitting meets the dimensional and pressure standards expected for SCH 40 PVC service.
This reducing adapter is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, irrigation manifolds, pool and spa plumbing, and industrial process piping wherever a 1-1/4 inch socket connection must transition to a 1-1/2 inch male threaded port. The socket x MNPT configuration is a common arrangement in pump suction and discharge assemblies, filter headers, and branch takeoffs where threaded equipment connections meet solvent-weld pipe runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for Schedule 40 PVC piping systems using 1-1/4 inch socket and 1-1/2 inch male NPT connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters in accordance with the IPC and local plumbing codes. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before cutting into any existing piping. The socket end requires proper PVC primer and solvent cement application; do not skip the primer step on pressure-rated joints. Allow full cure time before pressurizing the system per the cement manufacturer's instructions.
