The DURA PLASTIC CA10900 is a Schedule 80 PVC pipe cap with a female socket end style, sized for 1-1/4 inch nominal pipe. This fitting is used to terminate or blank off the end of a PVC pipe run, preventing flow and sealing the line. Manufactured domestically from rigid PVC, it meets the heavier wall-thickness requirements of Schedule 80 (XH) service. Plumbers and pipefitters install this cap wherever a permanent or serviceable pipe-end closure is needed in a chemical, industrial, or high-pressure water system.
This cap is suited for residential and commercial plumbing systems, irrigation lines, chemical process piping, and pool or spa plumbing where Schedule 80 PVC is specified. The female socket end accepts standard 1-1/4 inch PVC pipe for solvent-cement joining. Its thicker wall profile compared to Schedule 40 makes it appropriate for systems operating at elevated pressures or in corrosive environments where added wall strength is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using 1-1/4 inch nominal pipe with solvent-cement socket connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off system pressure and drain the line completely before cutting or capping any pipe section. Clean and dry the pipe end and socket interior before applying PVC solvent cement; follow the cement manufacturer's cure time before pressurizing the system. Do not use this fitting on systems that exceed the pressure and temperature ratings published for Schedule 80 PVC.
