The DUPONT 341557 is a gun-applied, single-component polyurethane foam sealant designed to seal gaps, cracks, and voids in residential and light commercial construction. The formula expands on contact with air to fill irregular openings up to 3 inches in diameter, conforming to the shape of the cavity and curing to a firm, airtight seal. At 24 oz, the canister is sized for a dispensing gun, giving installers consistent bead control over extended use. The cured foam resists moisture and drafts, reducing unwanted air infiltration through building envelopes. HVAC technicians, insulators, and general contractors use this product when sealing around penetrations, rough openings, and mechanical chase entries.
This sealant is suited for air-sealing applications where building envelope performance is a priority. Common install locations include rim joists, window and door rough openings, pipe and conduit penetrations through framing, and gaps between foundation walls and sill plates. The heavy-duty, fire-blocking formulation makes it appropriate for locations where building codes require fire-resistive sealing around mechanical and electrical penetrations. It works on wood, masonry, metal, and most rigid substrates commonly found in residential and light commercial construction.
Designed for use with standard dispensing guns compatible with 24 oz foam sealant canisters. Suitable for residential and light commercial air-sealing applications around framing, mechanical penetrations, and rough openings.
This product is installed by HVAC technicians, insulation contractors, and general construction trades. Wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection during application, as uncured foam bonds aggressively to skin and surfaces. Ensure the canister is at room temperature before use and shake thoroughly before attaching to the dispensing gun. Do not overfill cavities, as the foam continues to expand after application; fill to approximately half the cavity depth and allow to cure before trimming.
