The DUPONT 212101808 is a roll of Tyvek HomeWrap, a nonwoven nonperforated weather barrier sheet used in residential and commercial construction. It is manufactured by spinning extremely fine, continuous high-density polyethylene (HDPE) fibers that are thermally fused into a strong, uniform web. This structure creates millions of microscopic pores engineered to block bulk water and air infiltration while still allowing moisture vapor to pass through. The result is a balance of weather resistance and vapor permeability. Air resistance is rated at 1200 seconds. Licensed contractors and building envelope specialists install this product as part of the wall assembly beneath exterior cladding.
Tyvek HomeWrap is used in new construction and re-cladding projects on wood-framed residential and light commercial structures. It installs between the structural sheathing and the exterior finish material such as siding, brick veneer, or stucco. The 9-inch width by 100-foot length format is suited for narrower applications, banding, flashing integration, or supplemental coverage where a full-width roll is not needed. A licensed contractor or experienced installer handles application in compliance with local building codes and the manufacturer installation guidelines.
Designed as an OEM-style weather barrier wrap for wood-framed residential and light commercial wall assemblies requiring a nonperforated housewrap layer beneath exterior cladding systems.
Installation is typically performed by licensed general contractors or building envelope specialists in accordance with local building codes and the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). The wrap should be installed over clean, dry sheathing and lapped correctly at seams and openings to maintain continuity of the air and water-resistive barrier. Tape all seams, penetrations, and transitions using a compatible Tyvek-rated flashing tape. Do not install over wet or frost-covered surfaces, and protect the installed wrap from prolonged UV exposure before exterior cladding is applied.
