The DUPONT 187273 is a minimal-expanding polyurethane gun foam formulated for sealing around windows, doors, and rough openings. It fills gaps, forms an airtight seal, and resists moisture infiltration — all while applying with low-pressure build to prevent frame distortion. The foam cures to a durable, flexible seal that blocks air and water movement at the window-door-to-framing interface. Installers and weatherization contractors use it where precise foam placement and controlled expansion are required, particularly in new construction and retrofit work where tight tolerances around window and door frames demand a low-pressure product.
This foam is designed for residential and light commercial applications wherever windows and doors are installed or replaced. It is applied using a professional dispensing gun, which gives the installer precise control over bead size and placement inside rough openings, around jamb extensions, and along sill plates. The low-expansion formula minimizes the risk of bow or distortion in vinyl and wood frames during installation.
Designed for use with professional foam dispensing guns in residential and light commercial window and door rough opening applications.
Applied by window and door installers, weatherization contractors, or carpenters during new construction or replacement work. Surfaces should be clean and free of dust, grease, and loose debris before application; lightly misting the opening with water can improve adhesion and cure. Wear appropriate PPE including gloves and eye protection, as uncured polyurethane foam bonds aggressively to skin and surfaces. Follow local building codes for air-sealing requirements, which may reference IECC or ASHRAE 90.1 standards.
