The DUCANE EAH1P42CG-50 is a cased, horizontal evaporator coil rated at 3.5 tons, designed for use with residential gas furnace systems. Constructed with platinum gray aluminum tube and fin design, this coil serves as the indoor heat-exchange component of a split-system air conditioner or heat pump. It measures 21 inches wide by 21.5 inches deep by 26.5 inches tall and weighs 60 pounds. Foil-face insulation on the cabinet simplifies cleaning and helps maintain system efficiency over time. AHRI certified, this coil meets industry-standard performance ratings and is intended for installation by licensed HVAC technicians.
This coil is suited for horizontal installation in residential forced-air gas furnace applications. It fits into attic installations, crawlspace air handlers, and other horizontal-position configurations where vertical coils are not practical. The piston expansion device comes factory-installed, and the orifice assembly is designed to allow straightforward orifice size changes or fast TXV conversion if the system requires it. The single protruding right-side dual drain port simplifies condensate plumbing during installation and routine service access.
Designed as an OEM-style cased horizontal evaporator coil for use with residential gas furnace split-system applications requiring a 3.5-ton rated indoor coil with piston or TXV expansion.
Installation of this evaporator coil must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power and close the refrigerant service valves before beginning any work on the coil or refrigerant circuit. Secure all condensate drain connections and verify proper trap height per local mechanical code requirements before startup. Refrigerant line connections must be made in accordance with applicable EPA Section 608 regulations.
