The DRILL ROD TOOL STEELS 66768 is an O1 oil-hardening tool steel flat stock bar measuring 3/8 inches thick, 1/2 inches wide, and 18 inches long. AISI Type O1 tool steel is a general-purpose oil-hardening grade known for good dimensional stability during heat treatment and excellent machinability in the annealed state. This flat stock ships in the soft, annealed condition and is ready for machining, grinding, and subsequent oil-quench hardening. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and precision fabricators use this material to produce dies, punches, gauges, and cutting tools where tight tolerances and predictable hardening response are required.
