The DRILL ROD TOOL STEELS 51339 is an O1 oil-hardening tool steel flat bar cut to 1/16 inch thick, 3/8 inch wide, and 36 inches long. O1 is a general-purpose tool steel known for its good wear resistance, dimensional stability during hardening, and ease of machining in the annealed state. This flat stock ships in a soft, annealed condition ready for machining, grinding, and profiling before oil quench hardening. Machinists, toolmakers, and die makers use this material to fabricate punches, dies, blades, gauges, and small tooling components where tight dimensional tolerances and predictable heat treatment are required.
