The DOTCO 12L1181-36 is a straight air die grinder designed for precision material removal, grinding, and deburring in industrial and trade applications. Powered by compressed air, it delivers 0.3 horsepower at a no-load speed of 28,000 RPM, making it well suited for high-speed rotary work on metal, composites, and other hard materials. The tool accepts a 1/4 inch collet, uses a 1/4 inch air inlet, and routes exhaust to the rear to keep debris and airflow away from the work surface. A lever-style throttle gives the operator direct speed control during use. Licensed machinists, tool and die technicians, fabricators, and maintenance mechanics are the primary users of this tool.
This grinder is built for straight inline grinding tasks in both shop and field environments. The straight handle configuration and 10.9 inch overall length make it practical for accessing confined areas on fixtures, molds, weldments, and machined components. It requires a compressed air supply capable of delivering at least 16 CFM at 90 psi (620.53 kPa) to operate at rated performance. Rear exhaust directs spent air away from the operator and the workpiece, which is especially useful in finishing and inspection work where contamination matters.
Designed for use with standard 1/4 inch shank rotary burrs, mounted grinding points, and abrasive accessories. Requires a compressed air supply with a 1/4 inch inlet connection capable of sustaining 16 CFM at the rated operating pressure.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with pneumatic tooling and applicable workplace safety standards. Before connecting or disconnecting the air supply, ensure the air line is depressurized and the throttle lever is in the off position. Verify that the air supply pressure matches the rated operating pressure before use and that all fittings are properly secured. Always install the collet and accessory according to the manufacturer torque and seating guidelines for rotary die grinder tooling.
