The DORMAKABA rr8148s-26d-41 is a fully mechanical pushbutton mortise lever lock from the Simplex 8100 Series. It provides keypad-controlled exterior access via a single combination code while allowing free egress from the interior. Built on a mortise lock platform with a lever handle, it uses a two-piece anti-friction latch and a 1-inch deadbolt for secure latching and locking. The cylinder is a Large Format Interchangeable Core (LFIC) compatible with Corbin Russwin key override. No batteries are required at any point in the product lifecycle, eliminating battery replacement costs and labor. The lock is factory-handed for right-hand applications and complies with UL/ULC fire rating standards.
This lock is suited for commercial and institutional door applications where keyless mechanical access control is required on exterior doors. Typical installations include office suites, utility rooms, storage areas, and other access-controlled interior or perimeter openings where a single shared access code is sufficient. The mortise format is appropriate for steel or wood doors meeting the specified thickness range. It is installed by licensed locksmiths or door hardware professionals as part of a new installation or retrofit of an existing mortise prep.
Designed as an OEM mortise lock replacement or new installation unit for right-hand doors in the 1-3/4 inches to 2-1/4 inches thickness range with a minimum stile width of 5 inches. Accepts Large Format Interchangeable Core cylinders; key override is compatible with Corbin Russwin LFIC cores. Alternate part number: 192228.
Installation should be performed by a qualified locksmith or commercial door hardware technician familiar with mortise lock preps and LFIC cylinder installation. Power down any access control or alarm systems tied to the door before beginning work. Confirm door handing and backset dimensions against the existing mortise pocket before installation. Consult local building and fire codes, including applicable IBC and NFPA 80 requirements, when installing on fire-rated openings.
