The DORMAKABA RCI 8371X28 is a single electromagnetic door lock rated for 750 pounds of static holding force. Designed for access control applications, this mag lock mounts to a door frame and holds a steel armature plate flush against the electromagnet when energized, securing the door without mechanical latching components. Licensed electricians and security system integrators are the primary installers. The fail-safe, power-to-lock design releases the door immediately upon loss of power, making it appropriate for use on egress paths where local fire and life safety codes permit electromagnetic locking hardware.
This single mag lock suits interior and perimeter access control points in commercial, institutional, and light industrial facilities. Typical installations include office entry doors, server room doors, and secured interior passages where a low-profile, high-holding-force locking solution is needed. The unit is sold individually and is intended for single-door applications.
Designed as an OEM-style electromagnetic lock for single-door access control installations in commercial and institutional applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or a certified access control technician familiar with low-voltage door hardware. Disconnect and lock out all power to the access control circuit before mounting or wiring the lock. Verify that the installation complies with applicable local building codes, NFPA 101 life safety requirements, and any authority having jurisdiction regarding electromagnetic locks on egress doors. Do not exceed the voltage and current ratings specified on the product data sheet.
