The DO IT BEST 522619 is a 20-pack of silicone-filled wing nut wire connectors designed for making secure, moisture-resistant electrical splices. The silicone gel inside each connector seeps into the wire bundle on installation, creating a seal that helps protect the connection from moisture ingress. These connectors are twisted onto stripped wire ends by hand, making them a standard tool-free solution for junction box and splice work. Electricians and maintenance technicians reach for silicone-filled connectors when a standard dry connector is not adequate for the environment.
Silicone-filled wing nuts are commonly used in residential and light commercial wiring applications where connections may be exposed to condensation or intermittent moisture, such as attic runs, crawl spaces, exterior junction boxes, and HVAC equipment compartments. The 20-count pack is suited for service calls and small installations where multiple splices need to be made in a single visit.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stock wire connector for residential and light commercial electrical splice applications where moisture-resistant connections are required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified technician in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) requirements for the applicable wiring method and location. Always de-energize the circuit at the breaker and verify with a voltage tester before making or disturbing any wire connections. Strip wires to the appropriate length, twist the connector clockwise until snug, and confirm the silicone gel has made contact with the conductor bundle. Do not reuse connectors that have been previously installed and removed.
