The DO IT 760037 is a bright ring-shank underlayment nail designed for fastening plywood and composition subflooring to existing wood floors or floor joists. The ring shank provides superior withdrawal resistance compared to smooth-shank nails, helping to prevent squeaks and subfloor movement over time. The slightly countersunk head allows the nail to sit flush or just below the surface of the panel, reducing interference with finished flooring installations. Sold in a 1-pound box, this nail is a standard consumable for flooring rough-in work.
This nail is used in residential and light commercial flooring applications where a layer of underlayment panel must be mechanically fastened before installation of hardwood, laminate, vinyl, or tile finish flooring. It is suited for hand nailing or pneumatic nailer use on subfloor panels laid over wood-framed floor systems. The 1-1/4 inch length is appropriate for standard-thickness underlayment panels fastened into wood framing or an existing wood subfloor deck.
Designed as an OEM-style fastener for use with plywood or composition underlayment panels installed over wood subfloors or floor joists in residential and light commercial framing applications.
Installation is performed by finish carpenters, flooring installers, or general contractors during subfloor and underlayment rough-in. Nails should be driven at spacing intervals per the panel manufacturer recommendations and applicable building code. Ensure panel edges are properly supported and nails are driven flush to avoid high spots that can telegraph through finish flooring. Follow all applicable local building codes for subfloor fastening requirements.
