The DO IT 554561 is a small cap wire connector designed to make quick, secure splices with positive continuity. The connector features a tough thermoplastic shell that resists environmental extremes and provides high dielectric performance. A deep skirt design shields bare wire ends from exposure and delivers superior flash-over protection. Rated for use at 300 volts and 600 volts depending on application, this connector is built for copper-to-copper wire splices. It is suitable for residential and light commercial electrical work performed by licensed electricians or qualified electrical tradespeople.
This small cap connector is used in standard low-voltage and line-voltage wiring applications including junction boxes, fixture wiring, switch and outlet connections, and general wire splicing tasks. The compact cap size suits smaller gauge conductors typically found in residential branch circuits and lighting installations. It is sold individually on a card and is intended for use where a reliable, code-compliant wire connection is required.
Designed for copper-to-copper wire splicing in residential and light commercial electrical installations where a small cap connector size is appropriate for the conductor gauge.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit at the breaker before making any wire connections. Strip conductors to the appropriate length, twist wires together, and thread the cap clockwise until snug with no bare wire exposed below the skirt. Do not exceed the connector's rated voltage or conductor fill capacity.
