The DO IT 528277 is a general-purpose green vinyl electrical tape designed for insulating, identifying, and protecting wire joints and splices. The matte SPVC film is coated with a rubber-based adhesive that delivers high adhesion and conformability around irregular surfaces. At 7 mils thick and 3/4 inch wide, it meets standard insulation requirements for low-voltage wiring work. Dielectric strength is rated at 6.8 kilovolts per ASTM D1000. The green color supports color-coding applications where phase identification or circuit marking is required by code or jobsite practice.
This tape is suited for residential and commercial electrical work where a general-purpose insulating tape is needed at terminations, splices, and cable bundles. Electricians and maintenance technicians use it for wrapping wire joints, securing cable runs, and color-coding conductors or circuits. The conformable film wraps cleanly around irregular shapes without lifting or flagging at the edges.
Designed as a general-purpose vinyl electrical tape suitable for insulating joints and splices in standard low-voltage wires and cables across residential and commercial electrical applications.
Licensed electricians and qualified maintenance technicians typically install electrical tape as part of wire termination and splicing work. De-energize and lock out the circuit before working on any splice or joint. Wrap tape with at least half-overlap on each pass and extend beyond the conductor insulation on both ends to ensure a complete seal. Follow NEC guidelines for splice insulation requirements applicable to the installation environment.
