The DMI COMPANIES EZSEAL1 is a water-based, fiber-reinforced duct sealant mastic formulated for sealing HVAC duct joints and metal seams against air leakage. Supplied in a 1 gallon pail, it uses a synthetic latex blend with fiber reinforcement that stays flexible after curing and bonds reliably to ferrous and non-ferrous metal duct surfaces. It is rated for low, medium, and high pressure duct applications. The brushable gray mastic has a solid content of approximately 62 percent and a density of approximately 11.3 pounds per gallon. Service temperature range runs from -25 degrees F to 220 degrees F, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations.
This sealant is used by sheet metal mechanics and HVAC technicians on commercial and residential ductwork systems where pressure-rated air sealing is required. It is applicable to rectangular, round, and oval metal duct assemblies at joints, seams, and fittings. The product performs across low, medium, and high pressure duct systems and can be applied in a wide range of job-site conditions, with an application temperature range of 35 degrees F to 110 degrees F. Once cured, the mastic is paintable with latex-based paints, extending its use to exposed duct installations.
Designed for use on ferrous and non-ferrous metal duct systems in low, medium, and high pressure HVAC applications, both residential and commercial.
Installation is performed by licensed sheet metal mechanics or HVAC technicians in accordance with SMACNA duct construction standards and applicable local mechanical codes. Power down the air handling system before applying sealant to joints or seams. Apply with a brush to clean, dry metal surfaces free of oil, dust, and loose material. Allow adequate cure time before restoring system pressure, as full cure can take up to 72 hours depending on job-site humidity and temperature conditions.
