The DIXON VALVE COUPLING MSC1836108K is a reusable male hose fitting designed for threaded hose connections in fluid-transfer applications. Constructed from brass, this fitting accepts hose with a 3/8 inch inner diameter and a 5/8 inch outer diameter, and connects to a 1/2 inch NPTF threaded port. The NPTF thread standard creates a pressure-tight, dry-seal connection without relying solely on a sealant or gasket. The reusable design allows the fitting to be removed, inspected, and reinstalled without replacing the hose assembly. Plumbers, pipefitters, and fluid-system technicians install this type of fitting in hydraulic, pneumatic, and water-service lines where a secure male-threaded hose termination is required.
This fitting is suited for light industrial, commercial, and trade applications where hose assemblies must terminate at a threaded male port. Typical install scenarios include connecting flexible hose to valves, manifolds, pumps, or equipment ports with 1/2 inch NPTF female receivers. The 3/8 inch ID by 5/8 inch OD hose specification makes it compatible with standard medium-bore flexible hose commonly used in plumbing, hydraulic, and fluid-distribution systems. The brass construction offers corrosion resistance in water and many low-concentration fluid environments.
Designed as an OEM-style reusable male hose fitting for use with standard flexible hose measuring 3/8 inch ID by 5/8 inch OD, connecting to 1/2 inch NPTF female-threaded ports in fluid-transfer systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable IPC or facility-specific fluid-system codes. Shut off all fluid supply and relieve system pressure before disassembling or installing any hose fitting. Use appropriate wrenches to thread the NPTF fitting to the specified hand-tight-plus turns per manufacturer guidance for dry-seal threads. Inspect the hose OD and ID dimensions before assembly to confirm a proper fit and prevent leaks.
