The DIXON VALVE COUPLING MSC1240402K is a brass barbed hose fitting designed to connect a 1/4 inch ID hose to a 1/8 inch female swivel ball-end port. The fitting features a hose barb on one end for a secure, leak-resistant grip on flexible hose and a female swivel ball-end on the other end to mate with male NPSM-threaded ports. The swivel design allows the fitting to be oriented without twisting the hose, simplifying routing in tight spaces. Plumbers, pipefitters, and fluid-handling technicians install this type of fitting in low-pressure liquid and air transfer applications where a reliable barb-to-female connection is required.
This fitting is suited for use in residential and light commercial fluid systems, compressed air lines, and general-purpose hydraulic or pneumatic assemblies that run 1/4 inch ID flexible hose terminated at a 1/8 inch NPSM female port. Its brass construction makes it compatible with water, air, and a range of non-corrosive fluids. The compact size and swivel ball-end make it a practical choice for equipment, appliance, and tubing installations where alignment between the hose and the threaded port is not fixed.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for systems using 1/4 inch ID flexible hose terminated at a 1/8 inch NPSM female swivel port in fluid transfer and compressed air applications.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters in accordance with applicable IPC or system-specific guidelines. Shut off fluid or air supply and depressurize the line completely before removing or installing any hose fitting. Slide a hose clamp onto the hose before inserting the barb, then seat the barb fully before positioning and tightening the clamp. Do not overtighten the swivel connection on the threaded port, as brass fittings can be damaged by excessive torque.
