The DIXON VALVE 4df4-b is a straight-body pneumatic quick disconnect coupling socket designed for industrial compressed-air and pneumatic tool applications. Built to D-Series Automatic Industrial Interchange specifications (ISO-6150 Series B), it accepts a 1/2-inch Female NPTF thread on the pipe end and mates with standard industrial interchange plugs on the tool or hose side. The body is machined brass, and the internal seal is Buna-N/Nitrile rubber, making it suitable for air, nitrogen, and other gases compatible with nitrile elastomers. Licensed HVAC techs, pipe fitters, and industrial maintenance technicians commonly stock these couplings for compressed-air distribution systems and pneumatic tool drop lines.
The 4df4-b fits straight-line installations where a female threaded port on a manifold, air line, or compressor outlet needs a quick-connect socket. The D-Series Automatic Industrial Interchange profile is one of the most widely used pneumatic coupling standards in North American industrial and commercial facilities, making this socket broadly compatible with existing plug inventories. It is appropriate for both shop compressor setups and fixed compressed-air systems in light manufacturing, mechanical rooms, and service bays.
Designed as an OEM-style socket for use with D-Series Automatic Industrial Interchange (ISO-6150 Series B) pneumatic plugs in 1/2-inch sizing. Connects to any female NPTF 1/2-inch threaded port.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter or maintenance technician. Depressurize and lock out the compressed-air system before removing or installing any coupling. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape appropriate for pneumatic service to the NPTF threads before assembly. Do not exceed the pressure and temperature ratings of the coupling in service.
