The DIVERSITECH qtm-1 is a MAC line piercing valve designed for refrigerant line access on HVAC systems. It provides a single connection point for both piercing and servicing small-diameter copper tubing. A spring-loaded needle automatically back-seats after the service hose is removed, leaving the line free of restriction and forming a leak-proof seal. Two socket-head screws secure the valve body to the tubing. Compatible with 1/4 inch, 5/16 inch, and 3/8 inch OD tube sizes, this tool is a standard service item for HVAC technicians working on residential and light-commercial refrigeration circuits.
The qtm-1 is suited for use on both ducted and ductless HVAC systems where access to a refrigerant line is required without permanently altering the line set. Typical applications include checking system charge, adding refrigerant, or evacuating a circuit on equipment that lacks a standard Schrader service port. The valve is installed directly onto existing copper tubing in the field, making it useful for service calls where original access ports are absent or damaged.
Designed for use on copper refrigerant tubing with 1/4 inch, 5/16 inch, or 3/8 inch OD on both ducted and ductless HVAC systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Recover or isolate system refrigerant as required by EPA Section 608 regulations before piercing any pressurized line. Secure the valve body firmly onto the tubing using the two socket-head screws with an appropriate hex key before engaging the piercing needle. After servicing, confirm the needle has fully back-seated and install the wing cap to complete the seal.
