The DIVERSITECH hs24a3414 is a 2 DPST-SPST heat sequencer designed for staged electric heating systems. Heat sequencers control the timed energizing of electric resistance heating elements, preventing all elements from drawing current simultaneously at startup. This staged activation reduces peak inrush current and protects electrical infrastructure. The hs24a3414 provides two switching functions — a double-pole single-throw (DPST) output and a single-pole single-throw (SPST) output — to coordinate multiple heating stages. It is typically installed by licensed electricians or HVAC technicians servicing electric furnaces and air handlers.
This sequencer is suited for residential and light commercial electric forced-air heating applications. It mounts in the control compartment of an electric furnace or air handler where staged element activation is required. Systems with multiple heating elements benefit from sequenced control to spread the electrical load across startup. The hs24a3414 fits into wiring configurations that require both a two-pole and a single-pole switching stage within the same sequencer body.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement heat sequencer for residential and light commercial electric furnaces and air handlers requiring 2 DPST-SPST staged switching.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or certified HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power to the unit before removing or installing the sequencer. Follow applicable NEC requirements for electric heating equipment wiring. Do not energize the unit until all wiring connections are secure and covers are reinstalled.
