The DIVERSITECH CM-1000 is a battery-powered carbon monoxide alarm designed for residential installation by licensed HVAC technicians, electricians, and building contractors. It uses opto-chemical sensor technology to detect CO levels and triggers an 85 decibel horn when a threat is identified. The alarm ships with a maintenance-free, sealed battery intended to last the full service life of the unit, eliminating the need for periodic battery replacement. A quick-activation pull tab allows for fast commissioning during installation. The unit carries UL and CSA approvals, meeting standard safety certification requirements for CO detection devices.
The CM-1000 is suited for residential applications where a reliable, low-maintenance CO alarm is required. Its tamper-resistant design prevents battery removal and blocks a deactivated alarm from being reinstalled, making it appropriate for rental properties, multi-family dwellings, and single-family homes where long-term alarm integrity is a priority. The alarm is also engineered for superior nuisance alarm resistance, reducing false trips in normal living environments.
Designed as a standard-series, battery-powered CO alarm for residential installation in single-family and multi-family applications where a self-contained, hardwire-free detector is required.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician, HVAC technician, or qualified contractor in accordance with local building codes and NFPA 720 guidelines for CO alarm placement. Power down is not required for this battery-only unit, but the pull tab must be removed to activate the alarm before final placement. Mount the alarm at the height specified by the manufacturer and local AHJ requirements. Do not reinstall a unit that has been deactivated, as the tamper-resistant design is intended to prevent this practice.
