The DIVERSITECH 93-s-05 is a swaging punch tool sized for 5/16-inch tubing, used to enlarge the end of soft copper or aluminum refrigerant tubing so one pipe section can be inserted directly into another for a solder joint. This eliminates the need for a separate coupling fitting in many field repair and installation scenarios. HVAC technicians reach for swaging tools during system installation, coil replacement, and lineset fabrication. The 93-s-05 is sized specifically for 5/16-inch tubing, making it appropriate for smaller-diameter refrigerant line work common in mini-split and light-commercial applications.
This swaging punch is suited for residential and light-commercial HVAC work where 5/16-inch copper or aluminum tubing is being joined. It is used during new equipment installation, evaporator coil replacement, and field lineset modifications. The tool is driven with a hammer or mallet against a flaring block or tubing held in a yoke to expand the tube end to the proper diameter for a slip fit. Sold individually, one unit per box.
Designed for use with 5/16-inch outside-diameter soft copper or aluminum tubing in HVAC refrigerant line applications. Use with a compatible swaging yoke or flaring block for proper support during the swaging operation.
Swaging operations on refrigerant lines must be performed by an EPA Section 608 certified HVAC technician. Recover all refrigerant and isolate the system before cutting or working on any refrigerant tubing. Ensure the tube end is deburred and clean before swaging to achieve a leak-free solder joint. Do not attempt to swage hardened or schedule-rated copper pipe, as this tool is intended for soft annealed tubing only.
