The DIVERSITECH 701-028 is a reducing adapter elbow fitting designed for use in plumbing and HVAC condensate or fluid-transfer applications. Sold in a pack of two, each fitting transitions from a 5/8 inch barb connection to a 3/4 inch male pipe thread (MPT). Constructed from nylon, this elbow resists oils, gasoline, and common organic solvents while holding up to both cold and hot water service. The white nylon construction also provides long-term weathering resistance, making it suitable for installations exposed to outdoor conditions. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians reach for this type of fitting when routing condensate lines or low-pressure fluid lines requiring a direction change and a size reduction in a single component.
The 701-028 is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC condensate drainage systems, as well as general plumbing applications where a barb-to-MPT reducing elbow is required. The fitting accommodates both hot and cold water service, broadening its use across multiple trade disciplines. Its compact elbow geometry allows installation in tight equipment compartments where straight reducers or separate fittings would not fit. Each pack contains two fittings, supporting repairs or multiple connection points on the same job.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for residential and light commercial condensate and fluid-transfer plumbing lines requiring a 5/8 inch barb by 3/4 inch MPT reducing elbow connection.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician. Shut off water supply or isolate the condensate system before disconnecting any existing fittings. Barb connections should be secured with an appropriate clamp rated for the line pressure and fluid type. Thread the MPT end into the receiving female fitting by hand first to avoid cross-threading, then tighten to a snug fit using appropriate wrenching — do not overtighten nylon fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque.
