The DITEK DTK-PVP56V is a gigabit Ethernet surge protector designed to shield low-voltage network equipment from transient voltage events and electrical surges. It is installed inline on Ethernet data lines, intercepting damaging surge energy before it reaches connected devices such as switches, routers, IP cameras, and access control panels. This type of device is a standard component in any structured cabling installation where networked equipment is exposed to lightning-induced transients or power-cross events. Licensed electricians and low-voltage technicians are the primary installers.
The DTK-PVP56V is suited for use in commercial and residential applications where gigabit Ethernet infrastructure requires surge protection on data lines. Typical install scenarios include network closets, outdoor IP camera runs, access control head-end equipment, and any Ethernet run exposed to potential transient events. It is sold and used as a single unit per application point.
Designed as an OEM-style surge protection solution for gigabit Ethernet data lines in low-voltage commercial and residential network installations.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or certified low-voltage technicians in accordance with NEC Article 800 governing communications circuits. De-energize and disconnect all equipment from the network before installing the surge protector inline on the data line. Verify that all connections are fully seated to maintain gigabit signal integrity after installation. Do not install in locations where the unit will be exposed to moisture unless the application specifically allows for it.
