The DITEK DTK-MRJEXTS is a shielded PoE extender surge protector designed to safeguard low-voltage data and power-over-Ethernet circuits from transient voltage events. It sits in-line on the network cable run, protecting connected equipment from surges and spikes that can damage or destroy sensitive electronics. This type of device is commonly installed by low-voltage technicians, fire alarm contractors, and security system integrators working on structured cabling, IP camera systems, or fire alarm network segments where PoE-powered devices are deployed.
The DTK-MRJEXTS is suited for applications within fire surge protection systems and any installation where shielded PoE cabling is used. It is appropriate for both new construction and retrofit projects where existing PoE infrastructure requires added protection. Installers working on IP-based fire alarm panels, access control head-ends, or surveillance systems will find this device applicable wherever a shielded RJ45 inline surge protector is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style inline surge protector for shielded PoE data circuits in fire alarm, security, and low-voltage network applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or fire alarm technician in accordance with applicable NEC and local codes. De-energize the PoE source and disconnect the network switch port before installing or replacing an inline surge protector. Ensure shielding continuity is maintained through the device for proper shield grounding on shielded cable runs. Do not install in wet or unenclosed locations unless the device is rated for that environment.
