The DITEK DTK-4LVTEP is a surge protection device designed for low-voltage access control and security system wiring. It provides transient overvoltage protection across four pairs of signal lines, with data line clamping rated at 5 volts and power supply protection at 12 volts DC. A separate 24-volt AC or DC protected circuit supports panel or peripheral power inputs up to 130 VAC. Licensed security and low-voltage technicians install this device at the point of entry for wiring runs that serve access control panels, door controllers, card readers, and similar field devices.
The DTK-4LVTEP is suited for commercial and light-industrial access control installations where multiple wiring pairs terminate at a central panel or enclosure. It protects data and power conductors on runs exposed to induced transients from lightning, switching surges, or ground potential differences. Typical installations include multi-door access systems, visitor management panels, and gate control enclosures where both signal and power conductors require simultaneous protection.
Designed as an OEM-style surge protection solution for low-voltage access control wiring systems using 4-pair signal conductors with 5-volt data lines and 12-volt or 24-volt power circuits.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or security systems technician in accordance with applicable local codes and NEC Article 800 guidelines for low-voltage wiring. De-energize all circuits at the panel before connecting or disconnecting the device. Mount the unit inside a suitable enclosure to protect terminals from moisture and physical damage. Do not exceed the rated voltage on any protected port.
