The DITEK DTK-2MHLP36BWB is a 2-pair, 36-volt hybrid modular surge protector designed for fire alarm and life-safety signal circuits. It combines a plug-in modular format with a mounting base, allowing quick field replacement of the protection module without disturbing the installed wiring. Hybrid surge protection technology suppresses both common-mode and differential-mode transients, helping protect sensitive low-voltage signaling equipment from voltage spikes caused by lightning, utility switching, or inductive load events. Licensed fire alarm technicians and low-voltage contractors are the primary installers of this device.
This surge protector is suited for 36-volt supervised fire alarm initiating device circuits, notification appliance circuits, and similar life-safety signal wiring where transient protection is required. The plug-with-base configuration supports in-service module swaps during maintenance cycles without requiring complete circuit disconnection. It is typically installed at panel entry points, remote device locations, or anywhere signal cabling transitions from an interior run to an exterior or exposed run.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation surge protector for 36-volt 2-pair modular fire alarm signal circuits requiring transient voltage surge suppression.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or fire alarm technician in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit and follow the authority having jurisdiction requirements before connecting or replacing the surge module. The base should be permanently wired to the protected circuit, allowing the plug-in module to be swapped without disturbing field wiring. Verify that the circuit operating voltage does not exceed the 36-volt rating of this device.
