The DIRECTEDAIR da019lt-05 is a long radius 90-degree copper elbow fitting designed for copper-to-copper connections in refrigeration, HVAC, and plumbing piping systems. With a 1/2 inch connection size on both ends, this fitting accepts standard copper tubing and is suited for applications where a gradual directional change is needed to reduce flow restriction and pressure drop. The long radius geometry produces less turbulence than a standard short radius elbow, making it a preferred choice in refrigerant lines and hydronic systems. HVAC technicians and plumbers install this fitting using standard brazing or soldering practices.
This elbow is used in residential and light commercial HVAC systems, refrigerant line sets, hydronic heating and cooling distribution piping, and general copper plumbing rough-in work. The 90-degree angle and long radius sweep make it well suited for installations where adequate clearance exists for a gradual directional change. Both connection ends are 1/2 inch copper, conforming to standard copper tube dimensions for straight soldering or brazing into existing copper piping systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting for 1/2 inch copper piping systems in residential and light commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or plumber following applicable local codes, including IFGC, IPC, or NEC references where relevant to the system type. Always recover refrigerant and depressurize the system, or shut off water supply and drain the affected line, before cutting into existing piping. Clean and flux all connection surfaces thoroughly before soldering or brazing to ensure a leak-free joint. Avoid overheating the fitting during brazing, as excessive heat can compromise the copper material.
