The DIABLO DMAPLA4470 is a 9/16-inch SDS-Plus hammer drill bit engineered for drilling clean, precise holes in reinforced concrete. The 4-cutter full carbide head is constructed with Dura-Carbide rated to withstand heat up to 1800 degrees F, compared to 800 degrees F for standard bits. Tri-Metal Fusion Welding bonds the carbide head to the shank for high-impact resistance and breakage prevention. A built-in removable stainless-steel sleeve enables a two-step dust extraction process that removes up to 97 percent of dust and debris. Installed by concrete anchoring crews, masonry tradespeople, and commercial construction teams working under OSHA silica dust exposure regulations.
The DMAPLA4470 is designed for hammer drilling into reinforced and clean concrete, particularly for anchor-setting applications where epoxy or mechanical anchors require clean, debris-free holes. The dust extraction capability eliminates the traditional blow-brush-blow hole preparation method, reducing hole prep time by up to 3X and delivering up to 66 percent labor savings. It is suited for interior, overhead, and exterior drilling scenarios where airborne silica dust control is a job-site requirement or regulatory concern.
Designed for use with SDS-Plus rotary hammer drills. Dust extraction function requires the Snap-Lock Adapter, sold separately. Compatible with reinforced and clean concrete anchor-setting applications.
Installation should be performed by qualified masonry or concrete trades familiar with SDS-Plus tooling and OSHA silica dust exposure regulations (29 CFR 1926.1153). Confirm the hammer drill is powered off and the bit is fully seated in the SDS-Plus chuck before operation. When using the dust extraction sleeve, connect the vacuum system before drilling to maintain effective debris capture. Do not use this bit with rotary-only drill mode — hammer mode is required for proper carbide head engagement.
