The DIABLO DMAPLA4440 is a 1/2-inch diameter, 10-inch overall length SDS-Plus hammer drill bit engineered for drilling fast, clean holes in both plain and reinforced concrete. The 4-cutter full carbide head is produced using Tri-Metal Fusion Welding, giving it impact resistance against rebar and resistance to heat up to 1800 degrees F, compared to 800 degrees F for standard bits. A removable stainless-steel sleeve pairs with a Snap-Lock Adapter (sold separately) to create a two-step dust extraction system that removes up to 97 percent of dust and debris from the hole. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and concrete trades installing anchors, epoxy anchors, or conduit penetrations in reinforced concrete slabs or walls will find this bit relevant to daily production work.
This bit is suited for anchor-setting applications in residential and commercial construction where reinforced concrete is present. The 4-inch working length and 1/2-inch diameter match common anchor bolt and epoxy anchor specifications. The integrated dust extraction capability eliminates the traditional blow-brush-blow cleaning method, allowing epoxy or anchor placement immediately after drilling. The design addresses OSHA silica dust exposure requirements by removing airborne silica at the source, making it applicable for interior overhead drilling, exterior work, and enclosed spaces where dust control is critical.
Designed for use with SDS-Plus rotary hammer drills. The Snap-Lock Adapter for two-step dust extraction is sold separately and is not included with this bit.
Installation is performed by qualified trades familiar with SDS-Plus rotary hammer operation and applicable anchor manufacturer specifications. Verify the hammer drill is powered off and the bit is fully seated in the chuck before drilling. When using the dust extraction sleeve, connect to a compatible vacuum system per OSHA silica dust control requirements before beginning work. Do not use this bit in rotation-only mode; SDS-Plus hammer mode is required for proper carbide head engagement.
