The DIABLO dmansp1040 is a 5/16-inch carbide-tipped drill bit engineered for drilling into hard tile, stone, and glass. It features a multi-ground carbide Grip Point tip that produces clean, accurate holes with aggressive starts in dense materials. The hex shank design eliminates spinning in the drill chuck and maximizes power transfer from the tool to the bit. Manufactured with DIABLO-made carbide through a proprietary brazing and hardening process, this bit delivers up to 10 times longer service life compared to standard glass and tile drill bits. It is suited for use in both corded and cordless drill drivers, as well as hammer and rotary drills.
This drill bit is designed for trade professionals and skilled installers working with hard ceramic tile, natural stone, and glass. Common applications include setting anchors, drilling weep holes, and creating openings for fixtures in tile-covered surfaces. The asymmetric tip geometry increases cutting speed while extending tip life, making it a practical choice for repetitive drilling tasks in residential and commercial tile installations.
Designed for use with standard hex-shank cordless and corded drill drivers, hammer drills, and rotary drills. Suitable for drilling into hard ceramic tile, porcelain, natural stone, and glass surfaces.
This bit is installed by tile setters, flooring contractors, and general contractors. Before drilling, confirm the bit is fully seated in the hex chuck to prevent slippage. Apply steady, moderate pressure when starting a hole to allow the Grip Point tip to engage the surface cleanly. Avoid excessive lateral force, which can chip tile or deflect the bit off course.
