The DEWALT DWA8208H is a Type 29 zirconia alumina flap disc designed for aggressive material removal and blending on metal surfaces. The conical Type 29 profile presents the abrasive at an angle, increasing surface contact and cutting action compared to a flat Type 27 disc. Rated to 13,300 RPM, the disc is built on a fiberglass backing plate that resists flex failure under load. At 80 grit, it falls in the medium grade range, removing weld spatter, mill scale, and surface corrosion without the coarseness of a 40 or 60 grit option. It attaches via a standard 5/8-11 threaded arbor hole, compatible with most 4.5-inch angle grinders.

This disc is suited for fabrication shops, structural steel work, and field welding cleanup. Primary material applications include carbon steels and stainless steel.
