The DEWALT DW5512 is a solid carbide SDS Plus rotary hammer drill bit engineered for aggressive drilling in masonry and concrete. Measuring 7/32 inches in diameter with an 8-inch working length and 10-inch overall length, this bit is sized for anchoring, through-drilling, and rough-in work in hard substrates. The SDS Plus shank provides positive engagement with compatible rotary hammer chucks, transferring hammer energy efficiently without bit slippage. Electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, and general contractors use this bit for drilling masonry penetrations during system rough-in.
The DW5512 is suited for residential and light commercial applications where drilling through concrete block, brick, poured concrete, or stone is required. Common scenarios include drilling anchor holes, conduit penetrations, and pipe sleeve openings in foundation walls, CMU block, and concrete slabs. The solid carbide tip handles hard aggregate without premature dulling under normal rotary hammer operation.
Designed for use with SDS Plus rotary hammer tools. The SDS Plus shank is a standardized drive system accepted by SDS Plus chucks across major rotary hammer brands.
Install and remove SDS Plus bits only with the rotary hammer powered off and disconnected from its power source. Insert the bit fully into the SDS Plus chuck until it clicks into the locked position before drilling. Eye and hearing protection are required when drilling masonry. Follow applicable OSHA and local safety codes when drilling penetrations in structural concrete or load-bearing masonry.
