The DEWALT ACCESSORIES DW5245 is a 3/4-inch by 12-inch percussion drill bit engineered for masonry applications in demanding trade environments. The bit features a carbide tip that delivers up to two times longer service life compared to standard bits, and a four-flute design that efficiently evacuates dust and debris from the hole to reduce bit binding during drilling. The tip geometry is configured to minimize walking at the start of the bore, which improves accuracy on concrete, block, and similar masonry surfaces. Licensed contractors, masons, and experienced tradespeople will find this bit suited to production drilling tasks where speed and bit longevity both matter.
This bit is intended for use with rotary hammer drills and corded or cordless hammerdrills operating in percussion mode. The design is reported to drill up to two times more holes than conventional percussion bits and up to 50 percent more holes per charge when paired with cordless hammerdrills, making it well suited to residential and light commercial rough-in work, anchor setting, and concrete fastening applications. Each package contains 5 bits.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard consumable for rotary hammer drills and percussion-mode hammerdrills accepting straight-shank masonry bits in 3/4-inch diameter.
Install and removal should be performed by a qualified tradesperson familiar with percussion drilling equipment. Always power down and disconnect or lock out the drill before changing bits. Wear appropriate eye and respiratory protection when drilling masonry, as carbide-tipped bits operating in percussion mode generate fine silica dust. Follow applicable OSHA respirable crystalline silica standards and tool-manufacturer torque and speed guidelines for the host drill.
