The DELAVAN 55X70B is a solid-cone oil burner nozzle engineered for residential and light-commercial oil-fired heating systems. It delivers a flow rate of 0.55 gallons per hour (GPH) through a 70-degree spray angle, producing a dense, full-cone pattern suited for burners that operate with solid air patterns. The brass body and stainless-steel orifice work together to maintain consistent atomization under sustained firing cycles and resist fouling caused by fuel contaminants. Licensed oil burner technicians install this nozzle during routine annual service or combustion tune-ups.
The 55X70B fits into standard single-pipe and two-pipe oil burner assemblies commonly found in forced-hot-air furnaces and boilers. The 9/16-24 UNEF threaded inlet seats into the nozzle adapter without modification. At 1.625 inches in length and 0.75 inches in outer diameter, the nozzle drops into place as an OEM-style replacement, restoring proper flame geometry and stable ignition. It is appropriate for No. 2 fuel oil applications where a solid-cone pattern is specified by the original equipment manufacturer.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement nozzle for oil-fired furnaces, boilers, and water heaters that specify a 0.55 GPH, 70-degree solid-cone nozzle configuration.
Installation should be performed by a licensed oil burner technician in accordance with NFPA 31 and local authority requirements. Shut down the burner and allow the combustion chamber to cool before removing the existing nozzle. Use a properly sized nozzle wrench to seat the 55X70B firmly without overtightening, which can crack the body. After installation, verify combustion performance with a flue-gas analyzer before returning the system to service.
