The DEFLECTO atd10 is a 10-inch air-tite takeoff collar with an integrated damper, designed for use in forced-air HVAC duct distribution systems. The collar provides a sealed connection point between a main trunk duct and a branch duct run, while the built-in damper allows the installer to balance airflow to individual zones or rooms. HVAC technicians and sheet metal installers use this fitting during new construction and retrofit duct work to maintain tight, low-leakage connections at each branch takeoff point.
This takeoff collar is suited for residential and light commercial forced-air applications where branch runs extend from a main supply trunk. The 10-inch collar size accommodates standard round duct and flex duct connections at that diameter. The integral damper makes it practical for systems where zone balancing or airflow adjustment is required without adding a separate inline damper component.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for 10-inch branch takeoff positions on residential and light commercial forced-air supply trunk ducts.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified sheet metal installer in accordance with SMACNA duct construction standards and local mechanical codes. Power down the air handler or furnace at the disconnect before beginning any duct work. Secure the collar to the trunk with sheet metal screws and seal all joints with UL 181-rated mastic or foil tape to meet leakage requirements. Do not overtighten fasteners through the collar flange, as this may distort the damper blade alignment.
