The DE-STA-CO 548 is a manual hold-down toggle clamp rated at 2,500 pounds holding capacity. It uses a vertical handle orientation and a solid, closed-end bar to secure workpieces firmly against a fixture or work surface. The straight base mounts directly to a flat surface, making it a standard fit for jigs, fixtures, and assembly tables in fabrication, welding, and machining environments. The carbon steel construction with a zinc finish provides corrosion resistance in shop conditions. A red straight handle and 129-degree handle movement make operation fast and repeatable. This clamp is installed and used by machinists, welders, fixture builders, and assembly technicians.
The DE-STA-CO 548 is suited for industrial and manufacturing applications where reliable, repeatable workholding is required. It performs well on welding fixtures, woodworking jigs, machining tables, and assembly stations. The 199-degree bar opening allows clearance for loading and unloading parts quickly without removing the clamp. With a maximum mechanical advantage of up to 4.5:1, the clamp generates substantial holding force from modest hand pressure. This model is appropriate for both light industrial and heavier production environments where a straight-base, vertical-handle toggle clamp is the standard choice.
Designed as a direct-mount hold-down toggle clamp for flat-surface fixtures and jigs requiring a straight-base, vertical-handle configuration with a solid bar.
Mount the straight base to a flat, rigid work surface using bolts through the base mounting holes before applying any clamping load. Power down or de-energize any associated equipment before repositioning the clamp on active fixtures. Inspect the toggle linkage and bar for wear or deformation at regular intervals, especially in high-cycle production use. Installation and adjustment should be performed by qualified tooling or fixture technicians familiar with mechanical clamping systems.
